We had a fun day with our bride and groom Ruby and Max on their wedding day shoot at Emu Bottom Homestead.
Emu Bottom is regarded as one of the oldest homestead wedding reception in Melbourne. And it is perfect for a medium sized rustic wedding.
As our groom Tyson is staying at the Homestead, so on the day we started with our bride Ruby first to save time later from travelling around.
Our bride chose her getting ready place at a pretty boutique place on Airbnb. When we arrived there, we found most of the interior decorations pretty on point, just a few things were blocking the view. So first thing we do when we arrive is to move those stuffs that are not good looking, so we can have our photos with a clean background.
As you can see, we have a very easy-going approach when shooting our bride and groom. Instead of posing them on a set point, we would always having them naturally walking towards one direction, or have them doing something normally. In that way, we can achieve those natural and candid photos.
After we finished all the photos with the bride, we head to the groom’s place. The boys are naturally good for the photos: we just let them to chat to each other and make fun, and we can achieve very candid shots. Then we took the boys out to the lawn for some outdoor shots.
The ceremony at the Emu Bottom was breathtaking: held on the lawn just in front of the Homestead, people can enjoy the nice weather as well as the views of the Macedon.
For their wedding flowers, Ruby and Tyson chose a combination of eucalypts and Australian native flowers. The main color theme is orange and Burgundy red.
After the couples are officially married, we took them for some location shots. The white wall of the Homestead is a must do place for photography. Then we took the couples to the forest for some shots with their limo.
The night reception was fabulous, sitting around the two long tables, guests would appreciate the rustic and relaxing vibe. We also took the couples out during the reception for some sun set photos. On the days, although the lighting was not too dramatic, but indeed it provided a more soft diffusing lighting which is good for the photos.
